Remembering Joe Maciariello
Joseph Maciariello, the Drucker Institute’s founding academic and research director and longtime professor at the Drucker School of Management, passed away on July 1, 2020.
Maciariello was famously the only person ever to co-author a book with Peter Drucker: The Daily Drucker. His Drucker-related works include: Drucker’s Lost Art of Management: Peter Drucker’s Timeless Vision for Building Effective Organizations, A Year with Peter Drucker: 52 Weeks of Coaching for Leadership Effectiveness, The Effective Executive in Action: A Journal for Getting the Right Things Done, Drucker & Me: What a Texas Entrepenuer Learned From the Father of Modern Management, and the 2008 revision of Drucker’s “big book,” Management.
“He was very much a mentor to me,” Maciariello once said of Drucker. “His standards were very high and he gently prodded me on beyond what I thought possible.”
